Leticia and Saúl brought their people together for a ceremony at Sacred Heart Catholic Church and a celebration at Midtown Event Center in Norfolk, Nebraska.
Spanish and English flowed through the day. There was mariachi music after the ceremony, a lively reception, and plenty of moments worth slowing down for. We were their video team, working alongside Complete Weddings on photography.
The film needed to feel like their celebration, with their voices and the music and reactions that made it personal.
Getting Ready at Midtown Event Center
Leticia got ready at Midtown Event Center before heading to the church. Having the reception venue as the starting point let our team prepare some of the evening’s equipment while the morning unfolded.

Making space for the morning and the ceremony.
Part of our team stayed with Leticia while I headed to Sacred Heart to prepare for the ceremony. Splitting coverage meant we could keep filming the morning and still give the church setup the time it needed.
We had also recorded the couple’s interviews before the wedding day. That took one thing off the schedule and gave them room to talk without needing to get to the next event.
Pre-wedding interviews are an option worth discussing if you want more of your story in the film but have a full wedding-day timeline.
A Catholic Wedding Ceremony at Sacred Heart Church
The ceremony took place at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Before guests arrived, we coordinated with the church, prepared our audio, and positioned cameras to cover the ceremony respectfully.
Much of the service was in Spanish, with English included as well. We wanted to preserve the voices and the sequence of events as they happened, without turning the ceremony into a production.
Planning thought: share language needs, readings, and ceremony traditions with your team beforehand. Discuss translations or captions if you want them in your finished film, and confirm microphone and camera permissions with the church.
Mariachi Music and the Transition Back to Midtown
A mariachi band played outside after the ceremony as everyone congratulated Leticia and Saúl. It was a beautiful shift from the ceremony into celebration.
From there, the day moved back to Midtown. Even with a short trip, we always want enough time for guests and crew to get settled before the next main event.
A reception with plenty of energy.
Cocktail hour led into dinner, toasts, wedding games, and a busy dance floor. The music moved between styles, and the room kept moving with it.
We also recorded guest interviews. Hearing from the people around a couple can add another perspective to a film. We look for a suitable spot away from the loudest music and invite people who are comfortable taking part; it should feel like a conversation, not an obligation.
